Previously Dave held position with the private equity firms Trivest Inc. and TMB Industries.  Dave began his career in public accounting, where he obtained his CPA certificate, and worked for the firms of KPMG Peat Marwick (New York office) and Ernst & Young (Minneapolis and Chicago offices).Dave has over 25+ years of experience working with a wide range of companies as both a corporate executive and strategic advisor.  He has worked extensively with both healthy and stressed businesses on financial and operational matters within private equity, family owned and publicly held environments.       

Dave’s expertise ranges across the corporate spectrum.  He has successfully managed restructurings, debt and equity financings, acquisitions, divestitures, plant consolidations, cost reduction programs, information systems (including ERP implementation) and legal dispute resolution.  In addition, his leadership roles have included sales, operations/supply chain and human resources.  Dave has significant international operating experience in China, Europe, Latin America, Asia and the Middle East.

Professional Experience

Dave re-joined AEG in 2016 and has led a wide range of corporate restructurings, bankruptcies, turnaround situations and business improvement engagements as Chief Restructuring Officer, Financial Advisor and Board of Director.  Dave’s has worked across multiple industries including industrial manufacturing, chemical processing, retail (brick-and-mortar & e-commerce), aerospace/defense, technology, medical devices, transportation/logistics, automotive/heavy-duty truck and commercial real estate. 
 
Selected examples of Dave’s restructuring experience include: 

• Board Director, currently serving as independent director of aerospace and defense company.  In addition, Dave has significant board experience, previously serving at both domestic and foreign companies, and as a senior officer, Dave has worked closely with Boards for most of his career.  
• Chief Restructuring Officer for building products infrastructure business.  Company had severe liquidity and operational issues, as CRO led turnaround including significant operational improvements and eventual successful sale of the business.
• Financial Advisor to advanced materials company assisted Company in turn-around and refinancing. 
• Chief Restructuring Officer for a manufacturing and distribution company in the residential building market.  As CRO he stabilized operations, built consensus with various equity and debt holders and monetized assets

Prior to re-joining AEG Dave had cooperate leadership roles which have included the following: 

• EVP and CFO of Panasonic Lighting Americas, a leading manufacturer serving the commercial lighting industry, with broad responsibilities including finance, legal, information technology, human resources, and international sales.  Dave successfully led multiple corporate initiatives including the restructuring of domestic and foreign businesses, implementation of new ERP systems, and the acquisition and integration of acquired businesses.
• Chief Financial Officer of Chicago Metallic Corporation, a family-owned manufacturer of building products.  Dave’s role included developing and implementing strategies in North America, Europe, Asia, China and the Middle East.
• As VP/Treasurer of Transportation Technologies, Inc., a publicly traded manufacturer of freight cars and heavy-duty truck parts, Dave led acquisitions, lender and investor relations for publicly held equity and debt.
